Graduate (Masters and Ph.D) training prepares students for academic and industry positions, specializing in power and machinery, process engineering, structures and environment, soil and water engineering, waste management, food engineering, biological and agricultural materials’ properties, or instrumentation and controls.
The Biological Systems Engineering program at UW provides a broad based education, preparing students for the variety of applications that involve biological systems. While breadth is a part of the experience here, students have the opportunity to develop specialization in a number of areas.
The Graduate Program in Biological Systems Engineering is based in the department of Biological and
Agricultural Engineering. Graduate students share many of the privileges and responsibilities as regular
departmental staff members, and are encouraged to participate in staff meetings, seminars, and
departmental social functions.
