Georgetown University provides graduate students access to assistance in the form of loans and/or scholarships.
Merit-Based Scholarships:
More than $1.5 million is available to MBA applicants through merit-based scholarships. With the goal of recruiting top talent, scholarship recipients are selected from the Georgetown Full-time MBA Program’s pool of applicants based on academic performance, work experience, the evaluative interview, and other qualitative parts of the application.
All Georgetown MBA Program applicants automatically are considered for a merit-based scholarship and do not need to submit any additional materials to be considered. Scholarship notification is included in an applicant’s admissions decision letter. Prospective students are encouraged to apply early to best position themselves for scholarship consideration.
Connelly Scholarships
The Georgetown MBA John F. Connelly Scholars Program is an endowed scholarship program, established to provide recognition to an elite group of Georgetown MBA students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, professional excellence, and leadership in their community. The Connelly Scholars Program provides special programming, mentoring, and leadership development. Connelly Scholars are encouraged to be active members of the Georgetown MBA student leadership community and ultimately participate in the Georgetown MBA alumni community.
Scholars are selected by a committee of Connelly Foundation board members and Georgetown University MBA Program administrators. Scholarship recipients receive a full tuition scholarship for both years of study. All admitted students are reviewed for consideration.
Need-Based Financial Assistance
The Office of Student Financial Services attempts to assist qualified applicants who have financial eligibility to meet their educational and living costs. All United States citizens and permanent residents of the United States may be considered for federally funded programs. International students also may be eligible for financial support from the government of their home country or other agencies, but they are not eligible for federal funding from the United States.
Course Details
Course Structure
In the fall semester of the first year, students take a number of core courses, ranging from financial accounting and applied business statistics to organizational behavior and management communication. In the spring of the first year, students begin to tailor the curriculum to their interests and professional goals by taking elective courses in addition to core courses. In the second year, student coursework is almost entirely made up of electives.
In addition to regular coursework, Georgetown MBA students complete four intensive residencies that challenge them to apply their learning in real-world applications, in-depth personal and professional development plans, and an international consulting project.
International Exchange & Double Degrees
Students already enrolled in Georgetown’s Full-time MBA Program also are eligible to apply for a dual-degree program after matriculation.
MBA/JD Program
The Law Center and the Georgetown MBA Program offer a full-time, four-year program leading to a dual JD/MBA. The program is intended for students interested in the intersection of law and global business. The curriculum includes 48 MBA credits and 76 law credits.
MBA/MPP Program
The Georgetown Public Policy Institute and the Georgetown MBA Program offer a three-year dual MBA/MPP degree that is intended for students who are interested in public or private-sector policy analysis and management. The curriculum includes 45 MBA credits and 39 MPP credits.
MBA/MSFS Program
The School of Foreign Service and the Georgetown MBA Program offer a full-time, three-year dual MBA/MSFS degree. This program focuses on the growing global interdependence of business and government systems and is intended for students with strong interest in the relationship between foreign relations and global business. The program includes 51 MBA credits and 39 SFS credits.
Internships
The MBA career center provides a Summer Internship Offer Policy under which, Internship is offered extended to first-year students during the spring recruiting process must remain open for at least 15 business days from the receipt of a written offer.
