The Industrial Engineering undergraduate program is designed to develop the technical skills and intellectual discipline to become leaders in industrial engineering and related professions. The program is distinctive in its emphasis on quantitative, economic, computer-aided approaches to production and service management problems. It is focused on providing an experimental and mathematical problem-formulating and problem-solving framework for industrial engineering work. The curriculum provides a broad foundation in the current ideas, models, and methods of industrial engineering. It also includes a substantial component in the humanities and social sciences to help students understand the societal implications of their work.

Columbia is need-blind for US Citizens, US Permanent Residents and persons granted refugee visas by the US. As a result, the Office of Admissions considers your application without regard to your financial need. Financial Aid at Columbia is need-based. There are no academic, athletic or talent-based institutional scholarships.

Columbia meets 100% of the demonstrated financial need for all students admitted as first-years, including foreign students. And school continue to meet your 100% of your demonstrated financial need for all four years of study.

Columbia admits a large number of foreign students who apply and receive a substantial amount of financial aid. However, Columbia is not need blind for foreign students. If admitted and you demonstrate financial need, then Columbia will meet 100% of your demonstrated financial need.

Columbia is need-blind for transfer students. Though transfer students are admitted regardless of their financial need school do have a limited amount of funds available to fund transfer students.
