MBA Dean’s Scholarship
All admitted MBA Students are reviewed for the prestigious Dean’s Scholarship. The Dean’s Scholarship provides up to full tuition for students participating in the Full-Time MBA program.
MBA and MSCF Merit Scholarships
Merit Scholarship is awarded based on academic and personal credentials. This scholarship is awarded to students who we believe will enrich and add to the diversity and development of the class.
Tepper School Teach for America/AmeriCorps Scholarship
All Corps alumni who apply to the Tepper School’s full-time MBA program receive an MBA application fee waiver of $100. Additionally, Corps alumni who are accepted as full-time Tepper School of Business MBA students receive at least a $10,000 Tepper School Teach for America or AmeriCorps Scholarship.
Incoming Student Fellowships
Candidates who are admitted to Carnegie Mellon and obtain membership through the Consortium can compete for a fellowship that will cover tuition and fees for both years of the full-time MBA program.
Federal Direct Loans
A Federal Direct Loan is an education loan provided by the U.S. Department of Education. There are three types of Federal Direct Loans for graduate students:
- The Federal Direct Subsidized Stafford Loan (which is being eliminated for graduate students July 1, 2012)
- The Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
- The Federal Direct Grad Plus Loan
Federal Perkins Loans
The Perkins Loan program is a federal loan program that provides low interest (5%) loans to students who demonstrate exceptional financial need.
Private Loans
Private education loans (also called alternative or non-federal education loans) may be available to students who do not qualify for federal loans, such as international students, or to students who wish to borrow private loans in lieu of federal loans.
TMS Monthly Payment Plan
All Carnegie Mellon students are eligible to participate in a tuition payment plan administered by Tuition Management Systems (TMS). The plan is not available to cover living expenses. The payment plan, which requires students to pay an annual enrollment fee, is available only for the Fall and/or Spring semesters and allows students to spread their payments out over several months.

Course Structure
All degree candidates enrolled in the MBA Program complete a required core curriculum in addition to 90 units of electives for a total of 192 units (note, students pusuring a dual degree may have a different total unit requirement).
International Exchange & Double Degrees
The Tepper School of Business’s MBA program offers Dual and Joint Degrees with a variety of other degree programs at Carnegie Mellon University, as well as with the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Law. These programs offer students the flexibility to earn an MBA in conjunction with another specialized degree in just two to four years.
