Scholarships
- The Electrical Engineering Department offers a number of full and partial scholarships each year. To apply for a scholarship you must submit a Departmental Application. The application opens during winter quarter, and closes on April 1.
- The College of Engineering and its academic departments have over 150 funds for undergraduate scholarships. Funds are awarded based on financial need and academic performance and are designed to be integrated into a student’s total financial aid package. In the 2009-2010 academic year, the college and its departments awarded over $2 million in undergraduate scholarship support.

Course Structure
To qualify for the BSEE degree you must successfully complete 180 credit hours of course work. Transfer students must complete at least 90 of these credits from four-year institutions (including the UW); a minimum of 45 credits must be earned in residence at the UW in order to receive the BSEE degree. In addition, students must take at least 30 credits of specific EE coursework in residence at the UW.

- Exploration Seminars:Over 40 programs offer students the explore a topic in a small-group setting, outside the classroom, during the UW’s early fall start.

- Foundation for International Understanding for Students (FIUTS):Aims to enhance international understanding and promote cultural exchanges between UW internationals and Americans.
Internships
- Co-op:Co-op is a great way to get hands-on experience in your field, get paid, and earn credits toward your degree. Unlike an internship, where you are working but not necessarily getting paid or earning credits, Co-op is a structured program with specific requirements for the student and employer.
- IEEE:IEEE-USA participates in the highly competitive Washington Internships for Students of Engineering is a ten week summer program that introduces engineering and computer science students to science and technology policy and how our profession can contribute to public policy decisions on complex technology issues.

The Annual UW Undergraduate Research Symposium:The Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium is a chance for undergraduates to present what they have learned through their research experiences to a larger audience. The Symposium also provides a forum for students, faculty, and the community to discuss cutting edge research topics and to examine the connection between research and education. The Symposium includes poster and presentation sessions by students from all academic disciplines and all three UW campuses, plus invited guests.

1) To apply for admission to the University of Washington, you must submit an Undergraduate Admission Application and supporting information (high school or college transcripts).
2) You may apply for early admission if you are currently enrolled at the University of Washington, and have completed:15 credits of mathematics at the level of MATH 124, 125 and 126 or their equivalents. 10 credits of physical sciences courses plus the accompanying labs at the level of PHYS 121, 122, 123 or CHEM 142, 152 or their equivalents, or above 5 credits of English composition. You must have completed at least 15 of these 30 credits at the UW, and your cumulative GPA in these courses must be 2.50 or higher
All other candidates for admission may apply for either Autumn or Spring Quarter admission.
3) Be sure to set up your NetID as soon as you receive your application acknowledgement letter from the UW admissions office. You will use this NetID to log in to the College of Engineering on-line application.
